Fingerplay Can

A fingerplay can is a creative way to keep all of your fingerplays handy. When you need to keep little ones entertained, just pull out the container and let one of your students choose a fingerplay.

To make a fingerplay can:

  1. Gather and Decorate a large container (coffee can, oatmeal box, or something like that).
  2. Cut out circles from different colors of construction paper.
  3. Print the name of one fingerplay on each construction paper circle.

  4. Laminating the circles is best for keeping them in good condition.
  5. Attach each circle to a craft stick (like a popsicle).
  6. Place the fingerplay sticks in the decorated container.

Every time you learn a new fingerplay, add it to your container. You will repeat the fingerplays often throughout the year which will help you build your file of fingerplay activities.

  1. I like this idea a lot. What a great way to give the kids control of their own circle time!
